Abstract

A one-month-old baby presented with swallowing difficulties and head enlargement , and was found to have a gigantic exophytic brainstem cavernous malformation (CM). The lesion was initially managed conservatively due to the patient’s very young age. On serial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the mass attained giant proportions and the child eventually underwent surgery at the age of 9 months, with a good outcome.
